Brief History

With its headquarters in Benin, the Center was constructed and launched in June 10th 1989 under the auspices of UNECA alongside various other partners.
It has since then been directly managed by PMAWCA Secretariat with the help of the Port Authority of Cotonou within whose domain the buildings rests.
In 2018, PMAWCA decided to externalize the management of the Center through a concession contract awarded to Africa Consulting Leaders (ACL) in September of that same year.
