Along with the 2025 Board of Directors Meeting, APANG/Angola successfully hosted from the 28th to 30th of July 2025, the very first session of the newly created Statisticians Network of West and Central Africa.
The experts for the Statisticians Network from West and Central African Ports rose to meet the high expectations of this strategic network. The ardor and the frankness of discussions produced a number of important recommendations related to the future management of the Network, Port data collection methods, and amendments on the collection template.
– A new Bureau was created,
– Cruise shipping was given due importance because of the increasing interest of member ports for this and its projected impact on the regional economy,
– Best practices in data collection were shared and challenges addressed.
The presence of our partners: AfDB and CODEX further enriched most of the deliberations.
