- R11) Consider implementing an integrated management system to promote the best culture of environmentally friendly ports;
- R12) Modernize their infrastructures and equipment in order to ensure efficient port operations;
- R13) Find alternative solutions to congestion problems ports face through the:
-Creation of dry ports;
-Development of multimodal transport (Barges, railways, etc.), and of the roads and services that connect the ports to the hinterland countries;
-Creation of docking windows;
-Carrying out benchmarking trips to member ports like the port of Cotonou on the implementation of the “TRUCK CALL” system;
-Carrying out of port road traffic studies to determine for example the areas required for peak truck traffic times; - R14) Cooperate in order to find solutions to the common environmental issues faced.
