IPCOEA (IMPROVEMENT OF PORT CUSTOMS AND OPERATION EFFICIENCY IN AFRICA)
Grant scheme for support to implementation of Port Community Systems – Maritime/Logistics Single Windows
The project IPCOEA aims to improve the efficiency of custom procedures and administrative clearance process of port operations in accordance to Economic Partnership Agreement in Ports of the ECOWAS Area, through the implementation of Single Window Systems. The project is implemented by the Fondazione Accademia Italiana Marina Mercantile (FAIMM), the Académie Régionale des Sciences et Techniques de la Mer (ARSTM) and the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PWAWCA).
A crucial activity of our project is the implementation of a Grant Scheme with the aim of making available to actors of Western Africa port communities the resources to implement small-scale actions to start or continue the set-up of Single Windows and/or Port Community Systems.
The global objective of the Grant scheme is to contribute to a closer regional integration and increased participation in the global economy of ACP countries and regions through longer-term and locally anchored institutional capacity building. The specific objective is: Promoting the implementation of a single window and/or Port Community System approach in ports of the ECOWAS region through the realization of small-scale actions to start-up or strengthen local process to establish SW/PCS.
