Highlights from the Technical Committee meetings in Douala
The meetings of the Finance and Economic Studies (FES) and the Administrative and Legal Affairs (ALA) committees were highlighted by a great event:
- The contribution of an external expert in this specific field to present a relative modern theme so as to share best practices and revisit relevant methodologies in this field with delegates.
This session in Douala presented an opportunity for Mr. FAOUZI, the Technical Director of Single Windows for External Trade (GUCE). GIE of Cameroun and member of the African Alliance for External Trade (AACE) to give us a brilliant presentation on « The legal and Administrative aspects of the Single windows dedicated for trade operations; of which this presentation revealed three models of the single windows. They are:
Model 1: Single windows as an internal trade formality
Model 2: Single windows for logistics coordination
Model 3: Fundaments National single windows
- On the other hand, and according to the expert, the implementation of the single windows offers certain profitable advantages to private operators, the public and also for the country.
The management of single windows calls for voluntary guidelines and the co-operation of all interested parties with no exceptions.
Having participated in this session, delegates showed much interest, approval and support to PMAWCA Secretariat for coming up with such an ideal achievement which further reveals the dynamism of our association.
